Our Mission

Every player deserves to understand their own mind as well as they understand the Sicilian.

Chess psychology exists because the technical side of chess, including openings, calculation, and endgame theory, is only half the game. The other half is what happens in a player’s head under pressure, and almost nobody is trained to coach that half. My mission is to close that gap, for individual players and for the schools and clubs that shape the next generation of them.

Grounded in therapeutic principles

A Master’s in Marriage & Family Therapy means every technique offered is rooted in how minds and relationships actually change, not just borrowed sports-psychology slogans.

Competitive credibility

As a 2000+ USCF player, I’ve sat across the board from the exact pressure I coach players through. The work comes from lived experience, not theory alone.

Access, not just elite play

Years directing outreach for chess programs in impoverished communities shaped a conviction that this work has to reach beyond players who can already afford it.

Why Chess?

Chess is an honest game. A good move earns its result and a strong idea holds up on the board every time, that clarity is part of what makes chess such a rewarding place to grow.

It’s also one of the most welcoming tools available for that kind of growth: low-cost, easy to access, and played in nearly every country and culture on earth. With practice, anyone can improve, whatever their age, background, or personality. That mix of honest feedback and open access makes chess a near-perfect template for building real confidence and self-understanding.
